For Hunan Broadcasting System’s monumental new production complex in the southeastern Hunan Province, ELS designed the interior spaces for two studio performance theaters (dedicated to broadcast television productions) and an outdoor entertainment space. Our design included an interactive, 4,500-seat main theater studio to accommodate concerts, theatrical performances, and award shows, and a more intimate 800-seat studio customized to the needs of theatrical performances. ELS also designed a major outdoor plaza adjacent to the main studio theater. The plaza includes retail kiosks and a café, and is able to accommodate outdoor performances. The project has recently finished construction.
