Santa Rosa Junior College Athletic Facilities
Santa Rosa, CA | sports/recreation | community/education
ELS modernized and expanded the athletics experience on the Santa Rosa Junior College campus.
The extensive improvements included resurfacing and reconfiguring fields for baseball, softball, and soccer, new spectator seating and press boxes for baseball and softball games, a new aquatics facility with a 52-meter race and diving pool, a new grandstand, and a new fieldhouse with locker rooms, showers and restrooms, a class/team room, coaches’ offices, and a conference room. With roughly one-third of the school’s footprint occupied by athletics, our work, in collaboration with TLCD and Wright Contracting, helped to improve SRJC’s overall pedestrian experience by strengthening and unifying the precinct’s identity and clarifying connections to the rest of campus.
This single-phase effort began with an exhaustive analysis of existing facilities to determine what could be salvaged or replaced. We worked with campus and athletics leadership to understand their vision and establish priorities, informing the overall master plan. The improved facilities now support the recruitment process while creating a distinct home field advantage.
