Downtown Summerlin

Las Vegas, NV | mixed-use/retail/office | hospitality/f&b | urban design/planning
1/7

In the Nevada desert, Downtown Summerlin is a refreshing alternative to the Vegas Strip and a return to the traditional street grid.

Landscape plan

Working in close collaboration with the Howard Hughes Corporation, the Rouse Company, and General Growth Properties, ELS first created a master plan to guide new development for Downtown Summerlin, the urban core of the 22,500-acre community of Summerlin, Nevada. The plan creates a traditional downtown setting with a grid of streets, shady sidewalks, and plazas, which enhance land value, create address, and provide gathering space for residents and visitors. Later, as executive architect, ELS again worked with the Howard Hughes Corporation to complete the project, which includes department stores, shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a Class-A office building, and is LEED Silver-certified.
