Teachers from across the U.S. and Canada attended the event, held at the David Brower Center in Downtown Berkeley.
Clarence’s presentation, “Placemaking as a Tool to Improve Communities,” was based on the recently approved Redwood City Veterans Memorial Senior Center & Sequoia YMCA, a $100MM public/private venture that will provide Redwood City with a rich array of community-based programming and resources.
Developed in partnership with the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at UC Berkeley, ULI’s UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging, and academically demanding classroom-based curriculum in which students learn about the fundamental forces affecting development in the United States.
