Clarence D. Mamuyac, Jr., FAIA Named CED Dean’s Advisory Council Chair

ELS Architecture and Urban Design President and CEO Clarence D. Mamuyac Jr., FAIA, LEED AP BD+C was named the new chair of the College of Environmental Design’s Dean’s Advisory Council for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

The CED Dean’s Advisory Council is a select group of alumni and friends who care deeply about the College of Environmental Design and serve as its ambassadors with fellow CED alumni, alumni of the University, and others whose professional and philanthropic interests align with CED’s purpose. Clarence will be leading a council of 26 CED alumni and supporters.

Clarence met Donn Logan, former principal of ELS Architecture and Urban Design, while in graduate school at CED and joined ELS after receiving his Master of Architecture degree from UC Berkeley in 1985. Now he leads ELS as President/CEO.

Clarence has presented at national conferences about campus and sports architecture, participates in panel discussions at CED and was a recent guest on The Modern Architect, a Stanford University radio show and podcast. His work includes sports and recreation centers for Stanford University, the University of Southern California and the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently working with Cañada College on their $90MM Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance facility and with the City of Redwood City on their $100MM Joint Veterans Memorial Senior Center and YMCA, targeted for LEED Platinum.
