In Mountain View, Our New Aquatic Center Earns Another Honor

The California Park and Recreation Society has given our new Rengstorff Park Aquatic Center, which opened in 2025, an Award of Excellence for Facility Design.

As California’s first large-scale aquatic center to achieve all-electric operations, this project marks a new wave of emissions-free facilities nationwide and is the first of our many all-electric facilities coming online now and in the near future. We’re proud to be leading the vanguard of decarbonization in aquatic centers and other recreational buildings.

We’re grateful to the City of Mountain View for submitting this project for consideration. CPRS’s statewide awards program recognizes outstanding park and recreation projects in four categories (planning, design, sustainability, community benefit), with only one agency selected per category each year. In a statement, Mountain View officials noted that this recognition “highlights the City’s investment in a modern, inclusive, and community-focused aquatics facility that provides year-round access to swim lessons, recreation, fitness, and water safety programming. The award also reflects the extensive community engagement that informed the project, as well as the facility’s emphasis on accessibility, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.”
