ELS is pleased to announce that Ántonia Bowman, Chris Lutjen, and Danwei Wang have advanced to the firm’s associate level.
These promotions are made in recognition of their individual contributions to the success of the firm and in anticipation of further professional growth. Congratulations, Ántonia, Chris, and Danwei, and welcome to the leadership team!
Ántonia Bowman, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, Associate
Ántonia Bowman joined ELS in 2017 and is a licensed architect in California and Texas. At ELS, Ántonia has been engaged since design development in San Mateo County Community College District’s $90MM Cañada College Kinesiology & Wellness Building, a design-build project for which she is currently completing construction administration. During her architecture career, she has worked on a variety of projects for colleges and universities, retail and mixed-use developments, and civic and cultural institutions. As a member of AIA California’s Board of Directors, she represents AIA’s East Bay Chapter; she is also a core team member of AIA San Francisco’s Equity by Design. Ántonia is a committed advocate for greater visibility and equitable opportunities for women, LGBTQ+, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in the profession. She received a Master of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Studio Art from Smith College.
Chris Lutjen, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Associate
Chris Lutjen joined ELS in 2019 and is a registered architect in California with over fifteen years of experience in design and project management. Chris’s experience in project management and construction administration is instrumental in the successful delivery of ELS’ historic projects, ensuring skillful integration of historic criteria, project budget, program and design intent. As a historic architect, he has authored significant architectural portions of feasibility, historic structure, and code study reports, providing ELS and its clients with invaluable knowledge and insight on the complexities of detailing, codes, and accessibility. He is also a past board member of the Preservation Center of Oakland and was the recipient of an Emerging Professional grant by the Association of Preservation Technology International. Chris received his Master of Architecture and his B.S. in Architecture from Kent State University.
Danwei Wang, Associate
Danwei Wang joined ELS in 2017 and is a talented designer who has played a significant role in the conceptual design and development of many ELS projects. His experience includes numerous large-scale projects in higher education, sports and recreation, performing arts, retail and mixed use as well as master-planning and healthcare. He brings innovative design ideas to both the building and detail scale. Danwei has designed and built projects in California, Washington, Arizona, and Tennessee, as well as in China. Danwei received his Bachelor of Architecture from University of Arizona.
