At the north end of Palo Alto’s charming downtown, the Spanish Colonial Revival-style building was first known as the Hotel President. It was designed by noted Palo Alto architect Birge Clark and completed in 1929. For our scope, we helped our client, AJ Capital Partners (AJCP), return the structure to its original hospitality use. It now holds 100 keys, several charming lounge spaces, and Palo Alto’s only rooftop bar.

Through a careful integration of the Graduate Hotels brand, we preserved the spirit of Clark’s original design while enhancing the building’s personality. Design was done in collaboration with AJCP Interior Design. The project also won a 2023 Structures Award from Silicon Valley Business Journal.
