RH at Pier 70

San Francisco, CA | retail/mixed use | historic | hospitality

RH engaged ELS to renovate and expand this historic building as part of the larger master plan for the redevelopment of Pier 70 in San Francisco.

Working with the Port of San Francisco, the State Historic Preservation Office, and the National Park Service, the 1917 former headquarter for Bethlehem Steel shipyards was the ideal setting for creating RH’s new flagship showroom. The RH Gallery is a new concept projecting the lifestyle brand and extending the homegoods retailer into the realm of a hospitality-grade experience.

Spanning 60,000 sf on five floors, the RH Modern Gallery offers a rooftop conservatory with views of the bay and a terrace featuring outdoor furniture displays and fire pits ideal for hosting special events; a cafe restaurant and open kitchen in a new pavilion building; a wine vault; and an interactive design atelier for custom design consultation.
