Working in close collaboration with The Howard Hughes Corporation, The Rouse Company and General Growth Properties, ELS created a master plan to guide new development for Summerlin Centre, the downtown core for the 22,500-acre community of Summerlin, Nevada. Envisioned as an alternative to the Las Vegas strip, the plan creates a traditional downtown setting that integrates a network of streets, landscaped boulevards and public open spaces to enhance land value, create address and provide gathering spaces for residents and visitors.
As executive architect, ELS worked with The Howard Hughes Corporation to complete the project, which opened in October 2014. The 1.6-million-square-foot development includes department stores, shops, restaurants and a cinema, in addition to a Class A office building.
