Microsoft Theater (formerly NOKIA Theatre)
ELS designed a new 7,100-seat performance venue for the first phase of L.A. LIVE, the new $2.5 billion entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles planned by AEG on a 27-acre site adjacent to its downtown STAPLES Center. With an arena-sized stage of over 14,000 square feet, offering the intimacy of theater with no seat further than 220 feet from the stage, the Microsoft Theater (formerly NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE) is designed for flexibility, hosting a range of events from concerts and theatrical performances to televised award shows, such as the American Music Awards and the Emmy Awards.
