Mueller Town Center
ELS master planned the 39-acre town center at Mueller, a 700-acre redevelopment of the Robert Mueller Municipal Airport. Currently beginning construction, the sustainably designed mixed-use district will include local, regional and national retail, restaurant and entertainment tenants and will feature residential, office, hotel and museum uses. A new urban neighborhood bringing people together to live, work, and play, Mueller Town Center will provide the defining core for the redevelopment that already includes residential neighborhoods, the Dell Children’s Medical Center, and the University of Texas Health Research Campus.
In 2009, the entire 700-acre Mueller master plan earned a Stage 2 Silver certification in the LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Program, which integrates the principles of smart growth, urbanism and green building into a national program for whole neighborhoods and larger mixed-use projects. Mueller is targeting final LEED-ND Pilot Stage 3 certification in three to four years, when the development is anticipated to achieve 75% substantial completion.
