Kaka’ako Makai Areas Master Plan

Honolulu, HI | Urban Design & Planning

Between downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, a system of interconnected streets, open-air spaces and lush tropical landscaping provides the unifying elements for this 220-acre master plan, where 7 million square feet of mixed-use development is integrated with a waterfront park and open space. Winner of the National AIA Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design, the plan includes office, retail, a performing arts center, and a children’s museum.
