Burgess Community Center
ELS prepared the master plan, and completed the renovation and expansion of the community aquatics center. A resource for learning, recreation, and competition, the community center is a symbol of the city’s commitment to health, fitness, heritage, and the environment. Energy-saving features include thermal panels for pre-heating the three pools, natural cooling and ventilation, vegetative shading, daylighting, and operable windows. Program elements evolved from meetings with a City Council appointed steering committee, city officials, and citizen groups.
