Avery Aquatic Center, Stanford University
A steel and glass dive tower creates a new campus landmark at the expanded Stanford Aquatics Center. New improvements include a 50-meter training pool; a dive tank and tower with five platforms; and team locker rooms. The existing 50m pool and the Avery Stadium Pool were rebuilt; and existing locker rooms renovated. With the addition of nighttime lighting, shade canopy and new seating, high-level events in all four aquatic sports can be held either day or night, and the center has hosted Olympic training games and served as a championship venue for Pac 10 and NCAA events.
“The Avery Aquatic Center provides Stanford student-athletes with the finest training and competition aquatic facilities in the world.”
Richard Quick, Women’s Swimming Coach, Stanford University
