ELS Selected for Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium Renovation

February 21st, 2014 |

The City of Santa Cruz and Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music has chosen ELS to lead conceptual designs for renovations to the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. The project will be funded by a $50,000 grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Dedicated in 1940, the landmark downtown venue is home to the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music and the Santa Cruz County Symphony, and has hosted performers including Ray Charles, Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Dylan and Ani Difranco. The renovation is expected to focus on performing arts and cultural activities, with improvements including patron comfort, performer accessibility, and city-cost efficiency.
